Yonaturals: Vending Nature’s Goodness

November 12th, 2008 by YoNaturals

School-based healthy eating programs do have a positive effect on overall weight and the incidence of obesity, according to a 2005 study done in Canada.  Prior to this study, researchers found little in the way of hard data to back up the universal belief that promoting healthier eating among school age children would produce results that justify the added expense.

Substituting foods that are low in fat and carbohydrates in school lunch programs does result in less obese students, when combined with the standard physical exercise programs common in schools.

Fair enough.  So why then is obesity a growing problem among school age children?

Well, North Americans seem to have the physical activity part of the equation more or less down pat — we seemingly just can’t get quite serious enough about reforming our diet.  Too many high-fat, high carbohydrate choices and not enough hours in the day for kids to burn off the caloric overload being taken on daily by many of our youth.  Obesity rates have therefore climbed in recent decades, and have brought in their wake the chronic illnesses so common among the overweight.

Now, the Internet has joined television as yet another era-defining disincentive to getting the exercise we need.

At YoNaturals we long ago recognized that unhealthy nutrition is too often simply the result of too few healthy eating choices.  And we’ve done something about it — in a very big way.  Our distinctive YoZone food and drink vending machines are making a real difference in schools and offices across America, by putting within easy reach wholesome, delicious snacks which meet exacting health guidelines.

And with over four hundred snacks and drinks to choose from, our expanding team of distributors are able to stock a preferred selection for each location chosen for healthy vending.

What location could you suggest for the next YoNaturals vending machine? Why don’t you consider talking to CEO Mark Trotter about starting your own YoNaturals Business?

Healthy Vending: A Business to Seriously Consider

November 7th, 2008 by YoNaturals

Ever thought of owning one of those food vending machines the office staff can’t seem to do without?

Watch the service guy come around and empty all the daily coins and bills out of the cash box.  Then consider that there’s even more money debited from bank cards by eager customers.

Yes, food vending can be an alluring business, indeed!

Even in a “down” economy people have to eat.  In some cases, even more than they do when things are going well for them — but that’s another story!  Fact of the matter is, rain or shine, few businesses enjoy a revenue flow as steady as those built around food and drink vending.  Why shouldn’t you be one who profits from that fact?

And vending the Yo! Naturals product line blends satisfaction with profit because you know that the products you’re marketing are greatly appreciated by a growing legion of health-conscious customers.  Each item you select for sale in your machines — and there are hundreds of delicious food and drink items to choose from — has passed three rigorous nutrition tests:  it meets California-SB 19 nutrition guidelines;  it’s reasonable in cost ;  and it passes student taste tests!

Those California-SB 19 nutrition guidelines, by the way, require that foods sold in schools not have more than thirty-five percent of calories from fat or more than ten percent from saturated fat, and be no more than thirty-five percent sugar by weight.

What sorts of products meet these healthy standards?  Well, Stacy’s Chips, Clif Bar, Organic Valley, Vitamin Water, Roberts Pirates Booty, Horizon Organic Milks all do, as well as many other top-selling brands in the natural and organic food industry.  This brings you an established and loyal market of consumers just waiting for the convenience your new vending machines will provide!

Contact YoNaturals today and learn just how easy it is to get established as a healthy vending entrepreneur.

Succeed with a YoNaturals Vending Business Even in Tough Times

October 25th, 2008 by YoNaturals

When you open your pantry or visit the grocery store, do you see new money-making opportunities jumping out at you? Are you looking for a new way to diversify your own income? Have you ever considered investing in your own business? If you answered yes to any of the preceding questions, then you are the type of person that YoNaturals is looking for. In fact, as leaders of the healthy vending machine revolution, YoNaturals is currently seeking out people who are interested in investing in healthy alternatives to the traditional snack and soda machines found in many schools and workplaces today.

Think about the current national food trends. Even as the economy is on the decline, a lot of media attention is still focused on the evolving dietary habits of the average Americans. As a whole, the people in this nation are becoming more conscious about what we eat, and we are making changes when we find out that our dietary choices aren’t meeting the high standards that many of us set for ourselves. That said, even as people are cutting back on dinners out at restaurants and deciding to hold off on new car purchases, they realize that although they want to be more economical about it, they will still need food to survive. These two facts combine to provide the perfect opportunity for the shrewd investor.

Consider this: although snack food vending machines are found scattered all across the American landscape, the machines that sell healthy food and drinks are not quite as common. This despite the fact that the organic food industry has grown from a 1 billion dollar industry to an 18 billion dollar industry over the past twenty years. The wave of change has just been a bit slower to hit the vending machine market. In the future, instead of seeing snack machines stuffed full of junk food, you will be much more likely to see organic and healthy food options instead.

YoNaturals has put much time and effort into researching the changing food preferences of the average American, and that is why we have developed vending machines that will give the consumers the 100% organic and natural snack foods that they want. There is no doubt: the organic food market has grown past its infancy and has proven that it is here to stay.

If you are interested in investing in the future of healthy vending and want to purchase your own machines, then visit www.YoNaturals.com today to find out how to get started.

Report Highlights Rising Adult Obesity Problem

October 15th, 2008 by YoNaturals

According to a recent health study, the number of overweight adults continues to climb across the nation.

Thirty-seven states, in fact , reported increases in adult obesity since 2007.  And in no state was there a decrease.  The state with the highest adult obesity rate is Mississippi, at 31.7 percent.  Colorado has the lowest — 18.4 percent, according to statistics.  That Rocky Mountains state’s other relative claim to fame is that, in every other state in the union, more than twenty percent of adults are obese — though even in Colorado the obesity rate climbed slightly from the previous year’s figure.

And consider this:  In 1991, no state had an adult obesity rate higher than twenty percent.  Today, every state except Colorado does.

Now it surely must seem odd to be reading such morbid news in a country where sports and exercise clubs have proliferated across nearly every urban zip code, where physical fitness has been a national obsession for decades, and where magazine articles have talked up the notion of reduced-fat, lower calorie menus for — well, for as long as most readers can remember.

Somehow, the net effect of all the treadmills, lycra workout suits, granola bars, and tofu apparently hasn’t amounted to so very much.  Are we eating more — so much more that we’ve overwhelmed all that’s otherwise been accomplished enlightening ourselves about key truths of healthy living?  Or are there yet areas of nutrition that need attention?

Well, okay — many of us could still use a bit of assistance when it comes to snack foods and drinks.  Those tasty and tempting products made by a multitude of processed food companies aren’t going to go away anytime soon.  Nor will they become less evident in shops, schools and workplaces where temptation remains the ally of marketers and the wiley enemy of dieters.

Of course, when it comes to snacking and calories, strict self-denial isn’t the only solution.  YoNaturals produces a growing cornucopia of snack foods and drinks which combine healthy, less-fattening ingredients with truly exceptional taste.  In fact, providing healthy yet delicious vending products has been YoNaturals’ prime market strategy from the company’s very inception.  And a brilliant one at that — as the rapid spread of its distinctive natural and organic vending machines in schools, offices and shopping malls across the region perfectly demonstrates.

Will victory in America’s battle against obesity finally come with providing healthier and tastier choices, rather than unrealistically trying to make less food intake somehow seem like more? YoNaturals thinks so, and we’ve based our business around it.

Healthy Vending Businesses by YoNaturals: Recession-proof and Booming

October 6th, 2008 by YoNaturals

When you look at the bank of vending machines in your workplace, what do you see? If you are like most Americans, then you probably see machines that are stuffed full of high calorie junk food and sugary sodas. You might see an item or two that you would be tempted to eat when your stomach rumbles, but there’s probably nothing in those traditional vending machines that you might consider healthy or a well-balanced meal. However, the one thing that you probably don’t see when you look into these glass vendors is a selection of healthy food.

This is because although snack food vending machines have become a common sight all across the American landscape, machines that sell healthy food and drinks are not quite as common. In the past century, people wanted processed foods that they could keep from spoiling for long periods of time. Little thought was given to what impact this preservation process would have on the human body when these foods were eaten in mass quantities. However, that mindset is quickly changing now as the market for organic foods and beverages continues to expand.

In fact, over the past twenty years, the organic food industry has grown from a one billion dollar blip on the radar to an eighteen billion dollar force to be reckoned with. In other words, it has grown out of its niche market phase, and it is now entering the mainstream. And these simple facts should cause you to see that bank of vending machines a little differently. Instead of seeing machines full of junk food, you should look at them as your opportunity to cash in on this expanding market.

Listen to what your coworkers are saying. As new research continues to show us the harm that traditional chemical-based pesticides and fertilizers do to our bodies, people are increasingly demanding healthier organically-grown options, even when it comes to snacks and drinks. YoNaturals is attuned to this fact, which is why we have developed vending machines that will provide 100% organic and natural snack foods and drinks to your customers. It’s a simple business concept: if organic food is what people across the nation are demanding, then that is what we will provide.

If ever there was a time to invest in healthy vending, then surely that time is now. The organic food market has grown to a point where it has proven that it is here to stay, and it is not slowing down. Purchase your own healthy vending machine(s) today and ride this wave of consumer preference to your own financial success. Simply visit www.YoNaturals.com today to find out how to get started.

Nourish Your Body to Maintain Good Health

September 29th, 2008 by YoNaturals

Your body requires good nourishment in order to remain healthy. Good nourishment includes all of the essential vitamins, minerals and other nutrients the body needs in order to perform its daily functions. Every function our body performs requires energy in the form of calories and from those calories it derives the nutritional components that are necessary to keep our hearts beating, kidneys functioning, and all of the other functions that are necessary to keep us alive. These needs are important to maintain our bodies in good health, which is why lack of good nutrition prevents the body from working at full capacity thus our immune system will slow down leaving us prone to more illnesses.

One thing we need to learn as parents is that we need to prepare and cook meals that are good for our children. It should be of little importance whether we want to eat the same foods or not, but we cannot avoid those foods and expect our children to want to eat them. The choices we make should always be in the best interests of our children—they are, after all, our responsibility until they are adults. If we do not provide them the right nutritional choices, not only will they have health issues, their ability to concentrate in school will also suffer. When you combine the two of them, you will raise a child who has health and learning issues because of your failure to provide all of the nutrients he or she need to grow into a healthy and well-nourished adult.

Even though we have the responsibility to provide proper nourishment for our children, we also have to put some of the responsibility on the schools during those times when they are in school. Unfortunately some of the schools are failing to provide foods that are truly healthy, choosing instead to serve foods that the children will eat. The foods may be nutritionally well balanced enough to meet federal nutritional guidelines, but they tend to be higher in calorie content than is necessary. Foods such as pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers, submarine sandwiches and the like are commonplace on school lunch menus. Some help is on the way, though, with vendors such as Healthy Student Vending providing vending products that are natural and organic instead of packed full of empty calories. If more schools join in the effort to make sure our children have healthy snacks and foods that are not only nutritionally balanced but void of excess components such as grease and fat, our children may start to grow into healthier and better adjusted adults.

YoNaturals on Becoming a Healthy Role Model

September 19th, 2008 by YoNaturals

Author: Laura Rayburn

Most parents don’t have to be told that their children adore them. For most kids, their parents are a source of warmth, love, and joy, and because of this close relationship children knowingly (and unknowingly) adopt the habits and customs of their parents or caretakers. Unfortunately, some of these habits are not things that one generation would willingly pass on to the next. This is especially true of habits related to physical fitness.

As the caretaker of a young, impressionable child, it is important to realize the impact that your own diet and exercise habits has on their lives. To set your child on the path to a healthy future, it is important for you to emulate the type of lifestyle that he or she should embody. This includes eating healthy foods as well maintaining a regular workout schedule.
Invite your child into the kitchen to help you prepare dinner one night a week, or have them go along with you on your afternoon walks. Talk to them about how much you value exercise, and how it makes you feel. Stress to them the importance of eating a well-balanced diet and explain how you choose the components of the meal that you serve each day.

Try to not talk to them about your own personal weight struggles (if you have any). The American culture already puts an emphasis on maintaining a certain weights, and your own emphasis can reinforce your child’s own ideas about what a person should look like. By maintaining a positive attitude, and focusing on a healthy lifestyle (instead of a number on a bathroom scale), you can help them build healthy body images instead.

Cut down on the amount of television that you watch, and limit the amount of TV, video games, and web surfing time that your children get. Place an emphasis on being outside and getting plenty of fresh air, and, to reinforce the idea, join your children in their game of soccer or take them on bike rides. Even with older children, you can reinforce ideas about physical fitness simply by embracing them yourself.

Last but not least, one of the best things about being a role model for your children is that you can be a positive and lasting influence on their lives. Although you may make mistakes, you can redeem yourself again by explaining to your children what happened and how you are going to fix it. Speaking of mistakes, one time where many parents run into trouble is when they are out running errands with their hungry children in tow. Instead of breaking from your healthy habits by getting chips or a snack from a fast food restaurant, look for YoNaturals healthy vending machines. These provide a healthy alternative to all of the junk food that you will find in the other machines. Choose it for your children’s sake.

Learning the Truth about the Foods We Eat

September 12th, 2008 by YoNaturals

One of the most difficult tasks we face is that of learning what is in the foods we eat and we serve our children. With so many families relying on processed foods these days it can be almost impossible to know exactly what is in the foods we feed our families or eat ourselves. Many people have become label readers in an effort to determine what is going into their bodies, but the problem is that many of the labels are unclear or described in such a way that it confuses the average consumer. It’s a trick manufacturers use to get us to buy the product even though we have no idea what is in it.

One of the things manufacturers do to confuse the average consumer is to use the quantity in grams of ingredients such as cholesterol, salt or fat. The average consumer has no idea what an acceptable level is, so they only have one other way to determine whether there is too much of an ingredient—the generic formula many use is if it’s one of the first three ingredients, there is too much in there. One problem there is that there may be a number of ingredients that contain the same amount or whose values are within normal range. Most consumers have no idea how much cholesterol, fat or salt is within normal range, so instead they either take their chances or the avoid products that include more than a minimal amount.

Since it is so confusing to read labels, YoNaturals encourages consumers to buy natural and organic products so they don’t have to worry about what is in the foods they feed their families. If you buy natural and organic products, you can add your own herbs and spices so you know what your family is eating. The problem that exists at the present time is the cost difference for organic foods. Though they are healthier for families to consume, the cost is sometimes outside of the budget of some families. If it’s a few cents you’ll choose what is healthier for your families, but some products, especially meats can be double the price of food that is not organic. It comes to a question of feeding your family nutritional foods and making them do without other things or attempting to maintain a healthy balance. It has reached the point where we need to compromise with the farmers and retailers so families can eat foods that are healthier but don’t put a crimp in their budgets.

Conscious Effort Is Required to Combat Obesity says YoNaturals Natural Vending

September 5th, 2008 by YoNaturals

Author: Laura Rayburn

As many people know, an obesity epidemic has beset the country, with more and more people being added to the number of the afflicted each day. The rise is partially attributable to a decline in physical activity and an increase in quality of diets as Americans become more and more affluent and technologically advanced. The emergence of obesity as a health crisis stands in contrast to the diseases that have most threatened previous generations: illnesses such as pneumonia, tuberculosis, and other bacterial and viral infections.

Instead, modern day Americans are dealing with the health problems linked to obesity, problems that include high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, and insulin resistance. Further, much of the obesity in this country can be traced back to the fact that many people are consuming more calories than they are burning during the course of a day. That is, we are eating too much and exercising too little.

The CDC estimates that around 400,000 people die each year from conditions that are related to obesity. That’s around eleven hundred people per day who die of a (largely) preventable cause. However, these numbers should come to no surprise to anyone who is familiar with the facts since around 123 million people in this nation can be classified as either overweight or obese. Again, this is due to the fact that, as a country, Americans have largely moved toward eating highly processed foods that are loaded with fat and calories while cutting back on their physical activity.

Unfortunately for children, this is not a problem that is confined to the adult population. Around the world, researchers estimate that there are around 22 million children under the age of five that are overweight. And while genes do play a role in the development of obesity, they cannot claim sole responsibility for America’s weight problem. Technology and economic growth have made it easier for the average American to live and eat like a king.

In the end, it will take a national movement toward embracing better diets and establishing regular exercise regimes to push back against the obesity epidemic. However, there is absolutely no reason to wait for the band wagon to pass you by before you commit to maintaining a healthier lifestyle for yourself and your children. It will take conscious effort to begin with, but it should become a second nature in no time. Choosing healthier snacks while you are on the go will likely be one of most difficult aspects of your new diet, but seek out YoNaturals organic and natural vending machines and you will rest a bit easier knowing that you are choosing from among the healthiest snack options available to you and your children. Do it for your health.

An Alternative to Unhealthy Snacking

August 29th, 2008 by YoNaturals

Author: Laura Rayburn

If you’re like most Americans, then you have had to visit the vending machines on occasion. Whether you forgot your lunch or simply have an overwhelming craving for a snack, the vending machines in your workplace can usually remedy either problem.

Considering the workloads that many people are shouldering these days, it’s not at all surprising that people occasionally forget their lunches and snacks and have to pay a visit to the bank of vending machines in their office. It’s also not surprising that vending machines are one of the first options that people consider when they experience a hunger pang or energy slump while they’re on the clock. It’s quick. It’s easy. And it’s relatively cheap. Unfortunately, relying upon vending machines to provide a lot of food for your diet is also problematic.

The main problem with relying on vending machines for providing portions of your diet is that the majority of the food that the traditional machines provide is not very good for you. Most of the snack foods that are found within the traditional snack machines are loaded down with calories and fats that will destruct any diet if you eat them often enough. The drinks cause trouble for people too. Although sugary sodas do provide a quick energy boost, they are also a source of many empty calories, providing no nutritional value to the consumer.

Furthermore, the fact that many people are polishing off their candy and chips while still staring at their computer screen proves problematic when you consider the many issues associated with mindless eating. For example, if you’re trying to check your email and snack on some potato chips at the same time, it’s likely that your attention will be so focused on reading and responding to your message that you eat and eat until the last chip is gone. Only then will you have a chance to consider whether you should have stopped eating prior to emptying the bag. In other words, you deprive your body of an opportunity to tell you when to slow down or to stop eating because you are full.
So what’s the health conscious person to do?

The answer to that question is as simple as thinking about what you are putting into your body. Choose healthy snacks for yourself, either by bringing them from your own home or by choosing foods from healthy vending machines such as those provided by YoNaturals. Also, take some time to yourself to enjoy your snack. Enjoy a couple of minutes away from your desk and out in the fresh air (if this is possible). The experience will rejuvenate your mind and body, and you will be more productive when you return to your desk, refreshed and energized.
